Tomorrow, we leave

Dave and I are as ready as can be, and will meet at the Husky station at hightway 60 and 16 at 08:00, and from there, continue out the yellowhead route to Kamloops. We have been waiting patiently for this day, and now it is upon us. Looking for the weather gods to let us through the mountains. Wish us luck, and watch the spot for our location.

One week to go.

Well, it is just one week before Dave and I depart for our trip. With Lucille climbing Mt. Everest, my attention span at work is suffering a bit, just like I knew it would, so taking the next month off to go riding is just what the doctor ordered.

Unfortunately, I won't have my little trailer in time for the trip. I just spoke with the manufacturer, and they are having trouble getting the paint mix information from Honda. So I am going to send them my old saddlebag trim that I replaced with chrome pieces, so they can do a custom color match.

So a visit to the post office today, then shopping for a sleeping bag, and then heading out to Sherwood Park for a meeting for the Ride for STARS. Then, I have some trailer light wiring to do, just in case I can pick the trailer up, and get my riding gear and luggage rationalized for the trip.

Dave and I will first be heading out the yellowhead to Valemont, and then continue on to Nanaimo, on Vancouver Island. Dave purchased a used Combi-Camp tent trailer which we will be picking up, and also need to make sure the wheel bearings are good to go. His brother is in for suurgery on the Monday, so we will be in the area to see him in recovery, and then, depending on what the weather is doing, we will explore the island a bit before getting on a ferrie down to Washington.

My 49th. birthday is this Monday, so I can't think of a nicer way to start out my 50th. year on the right path.
